ABOUT KRYS PETTIT, ARTIST I am a professional artist, painting and exhibit my work for over 20 years in the Southeast region. My work covers the range of subject matter from still life to figurative. My passion is the observation of the hidden but extraordinary moments in life. I also am known for watercolor house portraits and commissions. I work with distinct and separate mediums: water paint, acrylic paint and oil paint. I am inspired by the vibrant transparency of watercolor, the delicacy and lyricism and how it reacts with paper and water. The other side of my creative process embraces the classical aspects of oil and acrylic painting and the visceral way textures and strong brush strokes interact with colors, light and dark, to create a unique image. I am most fortunate to have my work in various private collections throughout the country. My art has been chosen for poster art for national art festivals, and I exhibit in local galleries in the Atlanta area as well as numerous local and regional venues and juried competitions. Awards for art are a rare and special thing and I have been honored to receive awards in online, local and regional exhibits.
