Description
"Beauty of Lady" 18x24in -- the drawing combines two seemingly "unrelated" subjects: roses and makeup. The combination of these two subjects could be interpreted in a number of ways. Perhaps it is a commentary on beauty standards and how women are expected to present themselves. Or, it could simply be a playful juxtaposition of two different feminine objects. The black and white medium adds to the intrigue of the drawing. The stark contrast between the light and dark areas creates a sense of mystery. The viewer is left to wonder about the relationship between the roses and the makeup, and what I'm trying to say about beauty. • This is pencils on paper with a touch of color. • Semi-gloss Varnishing to protect colors.
