Provenance: Pennsylvania Artist Sterling Strauser Collection: Acquired directly from the artist; Freeman’s Auction sale of the Sterling Strauser Estate of artwork. This artwork features Dieters well known Naive folk ark style. Dieter work always seemed to feature depictions of dachund dogs and long pink eared rabbits in a folky naive landscape with figures and farmhouses in rural country side settings. Signed by the artist. Condition: Good. Normal wear around edges. Unframed Measurements: 20” x 15” Charles Dieter (1922-1986) Charles "Charlie" Dieter (1922-1986)Charlie introduced himself to Sterling Strauser when Sterling learned of the work of "Old Ironsides" Pry when they both resided in the Weatherwood Home for the Aged. Dieter drew delicate scenes of his private, childlike world familiar to him.The sun shines brightly in Dieter's work and his stiff, but serene existence emanates from his work. Dieter drew on paper and paperboard with pen, ink, pencils and crayon.
