(Top edge appears to be slightly wider than bottom edge). To be clear, the illustration is perfectly rectangular at the above dimensions (i.e. - 6-1/2" x 10"). Thanks for your understanding. The late animator/artist Bruce Bickford was born in Seattle, WA in 1947, and began drawing, painting, and sculpting at a very young age. He started making stop-motion animated films using clay figures when he was 15 years old. He joined the Marines at age 18, serving a tour in the Vietnam War, and later, at a base in Puerto Rico before returning to Seattle where he began animating again. In the early 1970s, Bickford was hired by musician Frank Zappa in Los Angeles to animate sequences for Zappa's concert films ("Baby Snakes") and other film projects ("The Amazing Mr. Bickford," "The Dub Room Special"). In 1979, after Bickford parted ways with Zappa, he returned to his hometown of Seattle to work independently for the last four decades of his life. He completed his first independent clay animated opus, "Prometheus' Garden," in 1988 (released on DVD by Bright Eye Pictures in 2008), and his second masterpiece, "CAS'L'," in 2015. Bickford made numerous 2D "line animated" films during the same period, and created art in a wide variety of media - paintings, illustrations, small sculptures out of cardboard and other materials. In 2004, "Monster Road," an 80 minute documentary feature film about Bickford's life and work, was released, winning 16 awards, screening at more than 150 film festivals, museums, universities, and indie cinemas around the world, and airing on Sundance Channel (2005-07), jumpstarting interest in Bickford's art and animation. Subsequently, Bickford's animated films and art were shown across the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Japan. In 2019 Bruce Bickford passed away of natural causes in Seattle. This item is a rare offering of an original work of art by Bruce Bickford. *Note: I will entertain all reasonable offers. Thanks!
