This listing is for a Pen & Ink Drawing on High Quality Art Paper by the artist JT, in 1993. It has been classically framed with a gorgeous, intentionally distressed, gold frame. The work itself measures 5" x 5". Framed, the work measures 8.5" x 8.5" inches. This exquisite art piece has been perfectly maintained by our consignor for the last three decades. The paper was purposely distressed by the artist during the creative process and is in the same condition as it was during its conception. The custom frame has hand done wormwood holes. The wood frame was constructed meticulously so there are no visible corner seams. The frame has a hand done red clay glaze undercoat with a burnished antique gold finish on top that includes distressing with cigarette ash and a casein paint wash overlayer. Unfortunately, we know more about the frame than the identity of the artist who has signed the work “JT ’93.” The art work listed obviously comes from a very talented and formally trained artist, but despite our best efforts we could not match the work with the artist. Because we do not know the identity of the artist, we have no choice but to sell this fabulous piece for what the consignor paid - $350.00 - when it was purchased in 1993 at Terra Cotta (which was once the go to place for fine furnishings on Montana street in Brentwood, California).
