Winner receives a personal 45 page sketchbook belonging to well listed American artist Herbert Beerman (1926-2016). The sketches were realized with black ink and the subjects include animals, figures, abstracts, and landscapes. Many of the pages are signed. We have included 12 pictures of random pages on our listing. If you would like to see more pictures, please message us and we can take more photos if needed. The sketchbook has provenance directly from the Estate Of Herbert Beerman. Overall the sketches are all in excellent condition with no rips, tears, repairs, or other major damage. All of the pages have come loose from the binding. The only page with other noteworthy damage is the 1st page, which has edge wear along with some staining along the bottom of the page. Once these pieces are matted and framed, they will really pop. The sketchbook measures roughly 17" x 14". Below is some information about the artist. He was the recipient of the 1st prize in watercolor at the Saratoga Centennial, 1963. He was also the recipient of the Grand Prize at the Saratoga Arts Festival, 1966 & The Statewide Exhibition, Short Hills, 1966. Herbert Beerman was the professor of art at the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, since 1960. He was a visiting artist & lecturer at Rutgers University, Cornell University, University Lund, Seton Hall University, Werkkustschuler, Offenbach, Germany, Hochschulen fur Musik und Darstellung, Stuttgard, Germany. He was an art consultant at GTE Laboratories, Bayside, New York and Waltham, Massachusetts, 1971-1986. Beerman was a visiting artist at the United States Air Force Art and Museum Branch, Washington, since 1971.
