Description

You are bidding on an original Drawing by REME aka Regine Mercier The drawing measures 16.25" x 12.25" and is unframed. Technique: Ink and Acid Material: watercolor Paper The drawing is unframed. About the Artist: REGINE MERCIER AKA REME - Artistry first came to Regine Mercier as a teenager when she received basic training in drawing from the sisters of Christ the King, in her hometown of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She was later introduced to painting by a family member, the late artist Raoul Viard, who taught her to draw from her own internal inspiration rather than from the influence of other artists. Regine works with different media: Oil, acrylic, under her name but also in ink, and charcoal under the pseudonym of REME. She has a different touch for each one of these media. Determined to advance on her personal technique and expand her horizons, in 2005 Régine befriended artist Jean Claude Garoute -Tiga during his stay in the Florida area. When classes with the artist were being offered at Alliatiga Foundation in Plantation, she became an integral part of the group. Getting acquainted through group discussions, private conferences and individual art classes Régine was introduced not only to Tiga’s painting methods, but she grew familiar to his Artistic Rotation, Soleil Brulé and his Saint Soleil Movement . Her work has been exhibited in the Florida, New York, Mexico, Puerto Rico and in Europe.
