Description
Artist Charles Medin 1903(?) Original Signed Ben Franklin 11" x 9" Water Color Painting. This was most likely a class assignment at his school. However, it is not dated and Charles just signed his initials, but 1903 is probable. Charles Medin was a famous Transportation Poster Artist from 1910 until 1949 and his posters are in museums around the world. Charles was born in Sweden in 1883 and immigrated to the US as a teenager. His art training was done at the Chicago Art Institute. In 1910 he was the staff artist for the Illinois Central Railroad and later was the Assistant Editor of that magazine. He retired in 1949. And, Charles was my wife's grandfather.
